ANIMALS DESERVE THE SAME ATTEMPT IN RESCUING AS ANY HUMAN BEING AFTER ANY NATURAL DISASTER.

Immediately after a natural disaster strikes, very little effort is undertaken to save pets that are trapped in locked houses and if happened upon by emergency relief personnel in search of people, the pets are simply passed by. Worse yet are the pets that have escaped the confines of their homes. Out on their own, scared and hungry, fearing everything, they search for food and a safe place to hide. Most emergency relief personnel will stay clear of the pets that they encounter along the way for fear that the pets have become dangerous after being without food and drinking nothing but contaminated water. In Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath, one newspaper reporter wrote, “Many of those animals sit forlornly on the rooftops of flooded homes, slowly starving to death as rescue boats ignore them, looking for people instead. Some have even tried swimming to boats, only to be rebuffed by the rescuers.”

It breaks my heart to think of all the animals that have been left behind and abandoned by rescuers. Just because they aren’t human beings, does not mean they don’t need help!

The people of Northern Thailand are famous for their sky lantern festival (Mae Jo Loy Krathong). Participants believe that it is good luck to release a lantern and that the lights rising into the dark night are symbolic of their problems and worries floating away.

The festival looks unforgettable. And it makes me wonder: if we really could let our problems and worries fly off into the night that easily, would we? There are some things we lose sleep over that we just can’t do anything about. So maybe, even just for a moment, we can try letting our worries disappear into the sky of an unknowable future and stay present in the peace of today.

I actually fell in love with this in the Disney movie 'Tangled' and was overjoyed to find out people can actually do this in real life.

AMAZING!!! right?

if you like teen angst this is your show.

plus the guys, mainly Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding), aren't bad to look at either.

The show revolves around four friends (Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily) who band together against an anonymous foe, known as "A", who threatens to reveal their darkest secrets.

I love the show overall.

but I mainly watch to see what's going to happen between Ezra and Aria. I care more about them staying together then finding out who "A" is.

I also love their fashion.

I have to say Aria's style is my favorite.

If you know me you know that 'Adventureland' is one of my favorite movies.

It’s the kind of film I can watch on repeat and not get sick of it and always manage to find something new.

Thus, the shirt below had to be mine:

It’s the Games Games Games ringer tee that both Em Lewin (played by Kristen Stewart) and James Brennan (played by Jesse Eisenberg) don whilst working at Adventureland.

also, if you know me you'll know that I'm a HUGE fan of both of these actors.

The shirt actually plays a fairly significant role in the development of Jesse’s character.

If you’ve seen the movie you know that to be a “Games Guy” is to be the guy who wasn’t cool enough to work on rides. It is to be awkward. It is, as James so eloquently put it, the “Scarlet V” in shirt form.

To make a 107 minutes story short, James ultimately prevails over the games uniform and all the disgrace that comes with it. In the movie’s final scene Em offers to let him wear the old shirt. James contemplates it for a moment before flinging it behind him.

It’s cute, cheesy, and a little self-deprecating. NerdyShirts is selling it for just under twenty bucks. You’re welcome.

To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Professor: If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes of course, I do.
Student: Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

If you know me you know that 'Adventureland' is one of my favorite movies.

It’s the kind of film I can watch on repeat and not get sick of it and always manage to find something new.

Thus, the shirt below had to be mine:

It’s the Games Games Games ringer tee that both Em Lewin (played by Kristen Stewart) and James Brennan (played by Jesse Eisenberg) don whilst working at Adventureland.

The shirt actually plays a fairly significant role in the development of Jesse’s character.

If you’ve seen the movie you know that to be a “Games Guy” is to be the guy who wasn’t cool enough to work on rides. It is to be awkward. It is, as James so eloquently put it, the “Scarlet V” in shirt form.

To make a 107 minutes story short, James ultimately prevails over the games uniform and all the disgrace that comes with it. In the movie’s final scene Em offers to let him wear the old shirt. James contemplates it for a moment before flinging it behind him.

It’s cute, cheesy, and a little self-deprecating. NerdyShirts is selling it for just under twenty bucks. You’re welcome.
